Whisper Phones-- Fluency

Fluency is a major component that my students need. Here is easy tool you can use in your classroom. You can buy similar ones online or you can make these & add your own touch.

Students practice using the whisper phones in the classroom without having to read loud enough to disturb other students. I can't wait to use these I my classroom this year!

Materials:
PVC pipe (1/2 inch)
1/2 inch elbows
Pool noodle
PVC pipe glue
Spray paint

I only made 6 whisper phones so one long PVC pipe was a plenty to make those. I used 18 elbows & 1 pool noodle. My fabulous husband used his saw & cut the PVC pipe into the length I wanted  & used the glue to hold the pieces together. Next, we spray painted 2 coats of paint to the pipe. Once it dried we slid the pool noodles on & glued them.

Have you made whisper phones? Do your students get much use out of them?
